The place I live - a neighbourhood of Sofia at the foot of Vitosha Mountain. These topographical maps are of that part of the mountain where I chose to build an installation - along the Stone River.

The Stone River (also called Morains) is a Natural Phenomena, typical of Vitosha Mountain with area 846.6 ha spreading at about 1000 m above sea level. It is characterised with expressiveness and largeness which are rarely seen in the other Bulgarian mountains.
These round boulders was not shaped by glacial ice. They were formed by the weathering and friction of Monzonite rocks, accumulated in the old stream beds. The rounding surface of the rock blocks is explained as a result of a water penetrating into the cracks, and on the other hand - the process of the normal mechanical weathering of the basic rock which also leads to a surface destroying particularly of ribbed parts of the stone blocks. The gravitation processes play major role for the accumulation and movement of the Syenit blocks to the lower parts of the valleys.
<- Site survey plan of my site, part of the Stone River, which is located in ''Zlatnite mostove'' (or ''the Golden bridges'' - translated in English).
Walking through the river, I was struggling to stay balanced on the stones, so I was thinking of what could be helpful here. I am sure most people think the same in their attempts to fully enjoy the phenomenon. This is how my idea of a tiny pathway came from.
This is the first the first plan of my installation - a wooden pathway over the Morains where even disabled people can walk and be part of the mountain and it is more safety for little children than climbing the stones. It is 2 metres above the ground, attached with wooden beams embedded between the stones at 2 metres distance one from another.

The coloured pillars on the picture View 1 are led -lighting in neon colours which makes the place also available and comfortable for people who enjoy walking at night time. It is not intrusive so the atmosphere of the place stays still romantic, where people are able to see perfectly the stars in the sky at night. This would be something innovative for our country where it is not usual to go on the mountain at night. I saw similar undertaking in London.
